What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired and authoritative Word of God, the trustworthy foundation for Christian faith and living.

We believe in one God, eternally co-existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, sovereign in creation, providence, and redemption.

We believe in Jesus Christ our Lord, the unique Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man, yet without sin. We believe in his miracles, in his substitutionary atoning death, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the place of authority with the Father, in his intercession as the only mediator and saviour of the world, in his ministry today as baptizer in the Holy Spirit, and in his return in power and glory.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who leads people to repentance, unites believers with Christ through the new birth, fills and empowers them to follow as his disciples, and enables their service in the church and witness in the world through supernatural gifts and ministries.

We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice, and are thereby lost and alienated from God, incapable of saving themselves. We believe salvation comes through faith in Christ, by the grace of God alone.

We believe the Church is the embodiment of the resurrected Christ on Earth, and that God calls every believer to play an active part in the life of a local church, fulfilling the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations.

We believe in the ordinances of Baptism by full immersion in water for believers, identifying with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, and in the Lord’s Supper, also known as Holy Communion, or the Breaking of Bread, proclaiming Christ’s death until he comes.

We believe in the resurrection of the dead, of the saved to everlasting life, and of the lost to everlasting separation from God.
